Yesterday when I opened my yahoo email account, I was promted that I could use the chat feature of the new yahoo. It's like one stop shop, you don't need to go to the window of your YM. It is integreated within the email account. It has given you the ease to chat with your friends.

C. Brown and Rihanna: Reunited?

Pop icon Rihanna and Chris Brown have been reported to be reunited. 

Reports circulating the internet as well as the papers and TV shows have been consistent in saying that the two pop icon have been together again.

The two pop star have cancelled their scheduled appearance during the Grammy awards because of the alleged assault of Mr. Brown to an unidentified woman which later appears to be Rihanna. A week later Mr. Brown issued an statement saying that he's sorry for what have transpired on the eve of the prestigous award. He also indicated in his statement that he has been seeking counseling after the incident.

For whatever reason, the fact that they are together again could impact not only the lives of their fans but also those women who have been victims of domestic violence. Rihanna is sending a message that it's alright to be beaten up and be ok with it.

Last Thursday I was in Ateneo de Manila University to accompany our students for their research. Well, Ateneo is not that grandiose as what I have imagined it to be. It’s just like my alma mater in school. Many are in their shorts, short shorts actually, and many are also in their slippers. One of the difference is almost all of the students are with laptops, IPods, high-end cellphones. And almost all have their own cars. The Parking area of Ateneo is always full.

 

Their library is full of great books. It’s fun to read inside their library. One thing is missing though. They don’t have tissue inside their comfort rooms. And the knobs of their faucets are rusting just like my state university alma mater.  They don’t even have dipper inside their comfort rooms.

 

So for me, Ateneo is just an ordinary school with extraordinary tuition fee, extraordinary teachings and extraordinary graduates. But it doesn’t mean that we should separate ourselves from them. We are just the same human beings. They eat what we eat.

Yesterday was a long and tiring day for me, emotionally and physically.

Firstly when I came to the school my mind set was to accompany the graduating students to a career-employment conference sponsored by PMAP and JPMAP. As i was on my way to venue, our VP for Academics called me said that if I could drop by her office for a little chat.

And so I went to her office. Although I have an idea what she will tell me, I didn't expect it to soon. She informed me that they have hired someone to replace me for my position and that someone will be starting to report to the school next Feb. 16. And then she later said that no hard feelings! Hard feelings about what?

You can not really do away with dirty politics. If they can not command you like a dog then they will get rid of you.
